As seen on...

Every time I come in contact with someone I want to remind them of just how Power-full they truly are!

My mission is the empowering of women (some men) to tackle their financial frustrations whether it’s saving their first $10,000, eliminating thousands of dollars in credit card debt, accelerating the process of paying off their student loan debt, boosting their credit scores, purchasing their first homes, converting their first homes into investments, and even creating a business that will produce even more wealth for them to save, spend, share and invest.

Why should you listen to me? Good question…well to begin, I was a Journalism major (Yes, I went to school to be a news reporter) turned banker, turned car saleswoman (sold luxury cars for a year), turned insurance agent. I am licensed to sell life, health & variable annuities and purchased my first investment property at the age of 22 and then lost my job! Whew!

I share this with you because when you join the Purse Empowerment community you gain access to my inner news reporter that is super charismatic, and super noisy about all things financial. There is nothing like a news reporter who enjoys picking apart everything about everything to make sure that you are getting the most accurate information when it comes to personal finance. I mentioned my licenses and the products that I have sold, because when you sale a product you are forced to learn the pros & cons of it to keep your licensed, remain in compliance and to be on par or above your competitors! But, I also want you to have some insight into why I can and want to assist you in developing your full purse empowerment potential.

Let me start from the beginning. My credit score was so low, you could have mistaken if for my weight…not really!  But, it was a lowly 520. At a credit score of 520 I had no financial leverage, so I set out on a mission to learned to boost my own credit score. I’m please to say, that at the end of those two years I improved it to 650 and made my first real estate purchase. The first property I ever purchased, I negotiated myself. Btw, I’m very proud of that. I convinced the seller to throw in all sorts of bells and whistles when it came to property improvements and renovations along with down payment assistance.

As I continue my financial empowerment journey, I spent three years as a banker. During that time, I learned what a lender is looking for when it comes to issuing car loans, business loans, unsecured loans and how the credit world works. Of course, part of my job was to approve and/or decline loans. That valuable experience allow me the opportunity to understand the finance related challenges and concerns that hardworking individuals (especially women) faced.

Along the way, I continued to work on and fine-tune how to manage, invest and save money. While partnering with my husband we decided to rent out my first property, move in with my in-laws, decided against a $20,000 wedding and have since become property owners three times over all before the age of 35! Keeping in mind I started this journey with a 520 credit score.

Oh, and when it comes to purchasing a car…I know how women are often duped by car sales people when it comes to purchasing a vehicle, because I was once colleagues with some of the smoothest talking car sales people you ever want to buy a car from. This could be a book in itself.

I’ve shared a snippet of my journey with you, so when  it comes to redefining ones self as a girl (woman) who lost her first real job, credit score of 520, after purchasing her first property, being a wife of six years, the mother of two tots ages 3 and 5 (might I add boys), publishing her first book 10 Things Every Woman Should Keep In Her Purse while pregnant. On top of which, I launched a successful web series ( Purse Empowerment WebTV) with over 25,000 monthly viewers, and continue to build a thriving business of five years where I partner with individuals, large organizations, and corporate sponsors to ensure that no  woman defines herself by the status symbol of her “purse”, but by the wealth & wisdom contained inside!

All of this led to the beginning of Purse Empowerment!
